## See what a useful plan looks like

See a completed example: making time for a friend

**What matters:** I miss catching up with my friend.

**Action:** Call Pat for ten minutes on Tuesday and Saturday, after lunch from my living room.

**Backup:** Send Pat a short voice message.

**Obstacle and adjustment:** We may not both be free. Agree a time first.

**Start and review:** 5 October to 18 October 2026.

**What helped or was difficult:** Tuesday worked; Saturdays were busy.

**Did the backup fit?** Yes. A voice message helped us stay in touch.

**What happened:** Two calls worked. Once I used the backup; once I skipped.

**Decision:** Keep Tuesday; change Saturday to Sunday after breakfast.

Example record starting Monday: – D – – – B – | – D – – – S –. D means did it; B used the backup; S planned but did not do it; – not planned. This is a fictional example.

## Explore life expectancy

Use our [Longevity Calculator](https://fruitfulyears.com/your-years-ahead/) to explore average remaining years and the chances of reaching future birthdays, starting from an age you have already reached. Choose from eight countries using official population life tables.

These are population estimates, not a personal prediction or a measure of healthy years. Lifestyle guidance is optional and does not change the figures.

## Find a starting idea

Looking for a manageable social habit? [Read how to choose one repeatable social contact](https://fruitfulyears.com/building-social-connection-after-50/).

### Make sense of a biological-age claim

Start with [what biological age means](https://fruitfulyears.com/what-is-biological-age-and-how-to-lower-yours/) and [what epigenetic clocks can and cannot tell you](https://fruitfulyears.com/epigenetic-clocks-how-science-measures-aging/). Use the appointment conversation sheet above to record the claim you want explained and ask whether a result would change a care decision. This reading route does not recommend a test.

### Movement that fits daily life
