How to Estimate Your Biological Age (Without a Blood Test)
While our interactive biological age calculator is under development, you can get a rough estimate of your biological age today using a simplified version of the same science. This checklist is based on the nine biomarkers used in the Levine Phenotypic Age calculator, one of the most respected models in longevity research.
For each of the nine factors below, give yourself a score from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) based on your recent lab results. A higher score means a younger biological age.
Biological Age Self-Assessment Checklist
| Biomarker | Score 1 (Poor) | Score 5 (Excellent) |
|---|---|---|
| Albumin | Low (under 3.5 g/dL) | High (4.5-5.0 g/dL) |
| Creatinine | High (over 1.2 mg/dL) | Low (under 0.7 mg/dL) |
| Fasting Glucose | High (over 110 mg/dL) | Low (under 85 mg/dL) |
| C-Reactive Protein | High (over 3.0 mg/L) | Low (under 0.5 mg/L) |
| Lymphocyte % | Low (under 20%) | High (35-45%) |
| MCV | High (over 95 fL) | Optimal (85-90 fL) |
| RDW | High (over 14.5%) | Low (under 12.5%) |
| Alkaline Phosphatase | High (over 100 U/L) | Low (under 60 U/L) |
| WBC Count | High (over 7.5) | Low (under 5.0) |
How to Interpret Your Score
- 40-45: Excellent. Your biological age is likely significantly lower than your chronological age.
- 30-39: Good. You are on the right track, with a few areas for improvement.
- 20-29: Average. Your biological age is likely close to your chronological age.
- Below 20: Room for improvement. Focus on the lowest-scoring areas first.
This checklist is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for medical advice. Consult your doctor to interpret your lab results.
